The Mystix Unplugged……Aug. 9

The Mystix Unplugged is the stripped-down, acoustic side of The Mystix — Boston’s acclaimed Americana ensemble known for their deep soul and Americana catalog rooted in the blues, gospel, and country of the American South. Over 20 years and 9 albums, The Mystix have toured extensively and built a devoted following now spanning more than 2million listeners on Spotify.

The Mystix traditionally ran six pieces and occasionally nine. The Mystix Unplugged takes a more intimate approach, featuring Jo Lily alongside a trio of seasoned professionals Marco Giovino, Kevin Barry, and Marty Ballou.

Jo brings a fascinating narrative to every performance, sharing the history behind each song, the artists who shaped it, and the stories woven into the music — turning each show into a genuine conversation between artist and audience. The musicians on stage carry credits that include Robert Plant, Bob Dylan, Peter Wolf, Levon Helm, Jackson Browne, Rosanne Cash, and Susan Tedeschi. The setlist draws from The Mystix’s deep soul and Americana catalog alongside celebrated songs from across the American Roots tradition, reimagined for rooms where the music can truly breathe.

Opening for The Mystix Unplugged will be Danielle Miraglia

Songwriter, guitarist, and roots-blues artist based in New England, Danielle Miraglia is a fixture of the regional Americana scene — her songs are direct, honest, and built for listening rooms exactly like the ones The Mystix Unplugged was designed for. A perfect pairing in tone, temperament, and artistry.

“Straddling the line where folk/roots meets rock/blues,” The Boston Globe wrote, “Miraglia has a voice that can go from a raspy come-hither purr to an Etta James-esque powerhouse belt, although she may be best known for her lead thumb — a heavy, thumping strike on her Gibson that’s backdrop percussion in itself.”
