The Don Campbell Band salute to Dan Fogelberg
August 13, 2016 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Singer-songwriter Dan Fogelberg was a multi-platinum selling recording artist, with hits such as “Longer,” “Leader Of The Band,” and “Same Old Lang Syne.” As a fellow singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, DON CAMPBELL has always considered Dan Fogelberg a huge influence and musical hero. Dan passed away in 2007 after a three year battle with prostate cancer.
In recognition of what would have been Dan Fogelberg’s 65th birthday on August 13th, DON and his six-member band will perform a special edition of their powerful and moving Evening of Dan Fogelberg Music show.
The performance includes many of Fogelberg’s hits as well as favorites from across the artist’s career, including selections from CAMPBELL’s 23-song double CD tribute, “Kites To Fly: Celebrating The Music Of Dan Fogelberg”. Released in November, 2012, it caught the attention of The Fogelberg Foundation of Peoria whose leadership invited the Band to headline the 2013 Annual Dan Fogelberg Celebration Weekend in Dan’s hometown of Peoria, IL. The Band performs “Evening of Dan Fogelberg” concerts around the country and is officially endorsed by the organization.
Co-based in Portland, ME, and Nashville, TN, DON CAMPBELL performs between 150-200 shows per year and has released 14 CDs over his career including 8 original music CDs and 2 Christmas collections. He has opened and/or performed with a long list of folk, country and rock music greats including America, Jonathan Edwards, Shawn Colvin, Carrie Underwood, Willie Nelson, and Keith Urban and has been honored with national awards such as the True Value Showdown $50,000 Grand Prize and the Jim Beam National Band Search Grand Prize. He was named Maine’s Best Singer-Songwriter for six consecutive years (2004-2009) in the Maine Sunday Telegram’s Annual Readers Poll.
